Hours are regular trading sessions on weekdays. Exchanges also close for local public holidays, which aren't shown here, so check the exchange's own calendar before trading on a holiday.

Forex trading sessions

The currency market trades around the clock from Sunday 5:00 PM to Friday 5:00 PM New York time. It moves through four main sessions: Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York. The busiest stretch is usually when London and New York overlap, around 8:00 AM to noon New York time.

US stock market hours

The NYSE and Nasdaq trade from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern time, Monday to Friday. Pre-market trading runs from 4:00 AM and after-hours trading until 8:00 PM on most brokers. On a few days, like the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, the market closes early at 1:00 PM.
