Questions people ask
How does this page know my time zone?
Your browser reports the time zone your device is set to. Nothing is looked up from your IP address and nothing is sent to us.
Why does it show the wrong time zone?
Your device's time zone setting is wrong or set manually. On Windows, check Settings → Time & language → Date & time and turn on “Set time zone automatically.” On a phone, turn on automatic time zone in the date and time settings.
What's the difference between a time zone and a UTC offset?
An offset like UTC−5 is just a number of hours. A time zone like America/New_York is a place's full set of rules, including when it switches between UTC−5 and UTC−4 for daylight saving.
