Oceania time zones and current time
Oceania holds the world's first and last time zones. Kiribati's Line Islands are UTC+14, the first place to start each new day, while American Samoa and Niue, only a few hundred miles away, are UTC−11, among the last.
Australia has three main zones (Western, Central and Eastern), and only its southern states use daylight saving time, from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April. New Zealand is UTC+12 (UTC+13 in its summer), with the Chatham Islands 45 minutes ahead of that. Samoa jumped across the International Date Line at the end of 2011, skipping 30 December entirely, to line up with Australia and New Zealand.
