Asia time zones and current time
Asia runs from UTC+2 on the eastern Mediterranean to UTC+9 in Japan and Korea, and further east across Russia's Far East. It has some of the world's unusual offsets: India is UTC+5:30, Nepal UTC+5:45, Iran UTC+3:30, Afghanistan UTC+4:30 and Myanmar UTC+6:30.
China covers about 60 degrees of longitude, wide enough for five time zones, but the whole country runs on Beijing time (UTC+8), so in the far west the sun can rise after 9 AM in winter. Most of Asia doesn't use daylight saving time; the main exceptions are around the eastern Mediterranean, such as Israel, Lebanon and Cyprus.
