Africa time zones and current time
Africa spans five hours, from UTC−1 in Cape Verde to UTC+4 in Mauritius, Réunion and the Seychelles. Almost all of it stays on the same time all year: Egypt is the only African country with summer time, and Morocco moves its clocks back an hour during Ramadan.
Most of the continent uses four zones: GMT (UTC+0) in much of West Africa, West Africa Time (UTC+1) from Nigeria to Angola, Central Africa Time and South Africa Standard Time (both UTC+2) across the south, and East Africa Time (UTC+3) in Kenya, Ethiopia and their neighbors. Because these are so close to the equator, day length barely changes through the year, so daylight saving time would gain little.
