AST – Atlantic Standard Time
AST is UTC−4.
Atlantic Standard Time is used in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI in winter, and Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and much of the Caribbean all year.
In summer, places on AST switch to ADT (Atlantic Daylight Time, UTC−3). People often keep saying “AST” all year, but strictly it's only correct in the standard-time months.
