Questions people ask

How many countries do not use daylight saving time?

Of the 247 countries and territories in the time zone database, 177 use no daylight saving time at all in 2026–2027, 62 use it everywhere, and 8 use it only in some regions.

Which big countries have no daylight saving time?

China, India, Japan, Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Philippines, Argentina, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and South Africa are among the most populous countries that keep the same clock all year.

Why do most countries not change their clocks?

Near the equator, day length barely changes through the year, so moving the clocks gains nothing. Many other countries tried it and stopped, citing health, energy savings that failed to appear, or the confusion of changing clocks twice a year.
