Toothbrush timer
Press Start and brush for two minutes. Every 30 seconds the timer chimes (and can say aloud) when to move to the next part of your mouth: top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right. Great for helping kids brush long enough.
Why two minutes?
Dentists, including the American Dental Association, recommend brushing for two minutes twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Most people stop well short of that without a timer. Splitting the mouth into four zones of 30 seconds each makes sure the back teeth get as much time as the front ones.
Making it fun for kids
- Turn on Spoken prompts so the timer tells them where to brush next.
- Let them press Start themselves and watch the bar fill up.
- The page counts finished brushes on your device, a simple way to track a brushing streak.
Also handy: the handwashing timer and the time-out timer for kids.
